The Job Change
The first step I've taken to re-take control of my life? I've decided to change my job. I've spent the last 3 years as an Emergency Room nurse. I love the critically ill patients, the thought process, and all of my coworkers. That being said, I hate being called mean names by patients, being assaulted, and having things thrown at me. Also, the hours make it difficult for me to have any kind of a regular sleeping schedule. So...I've decided to transition to cath lab.
The bad part? It pays a little less, which is why conquering my finances needs to become an even greater priority.
The good part? It's bankers hours, I sedate the patients so they can't yell at me, and I'll still be working with a great group of people. I'm hoping that this change will be an effective first step in conquering my life.
My last day in the ER will be January 16th, which will give me 5 days to start waking up in the morning hours for the first time in years. Wish me luck!
Why I Conquer
Welcome Everyone to my new Blog!

It has been quite a year in my world. I traveled to Europe, got a divorce, moved a few times, and changed jobs. Obviously a year of highs and lows. In that time I've also put on about 25 pounds and completely lost track of my finances. I'm now feeling out of control and have decided to re-conquer my life. Egads! It's time to refocus my time, my efforts, and my life. I'm going to post my progress to hold myself accountable and hopefully inspire some people who are finding themselves overwhelmed. I've decided to focus on my finances and my health. Along the way expect to see some crafts, some sports, and some romance. I'm excited!
